Why Become A Volunteer?
Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland seeks to provide families
in our community with decent and affordable homes. This process
is only possible through the contribution of habitat volunteers.
Through volunteering you can take an active role in building
a strong community, forming new friendships, gaining servant
responsibility and learning new skills. All of these valuable
attributes are accessible while working hand in hand with
the future homeowners themselves. There are many areas for
you to contribute your talents. Volunteers can assist our
local offices, our work sites or at the Habitat thrift store.
All of our staff and volunteers are excited to see the progression
that our Cleveland Habitat is making and are excited about
the future.
Volunteer Opportunities
Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland offers a number of different
ways to get involved and help improve our community.
Construction site
You can donate your time and effort at the job site, Home
Store or office.
The job site needs anyone that's willing to learn how to
use a hammer and also those who are experienced and are
willing to teach and lead a house build.
The Home Store
The Home Store needs
people who can volunteer on a weekly basis by doing anything
from helping move furniture to pricing clothes or just someone
to organize shelves and walk around to help people find
what they need.
You can donate items from your home to our Home Store to
help contribute to the cost of the next house that needs
to be built. Anything from those clothes that don’t
fit anymore to a nice tax deduction after donating that
old car. There are a few things we don’t take, and
those are; appliances that don’t work, unusable furniture,
open or partial cans of paint, paint thinner or other toxic
substances, etc.
Office
If you like talking, smiling and filing, we could sure
use you here at the office. Call, email or mail in an interest
form letting us know you're interested, so we can find work
that needs to be done.
Become a Partner
You or your business, church or school can partner
with Habitat to sponsor a house directly. By sponsoring
a house you get directly involved with the fundraising and
construction of the house, usually a commitment of 3 to
5 months. This is a great way to get your employees, congregation
or students involved in the local community.
Donations
Your time, your talent, your treasure. All of these donations
are gratefully accepted. Financial donations may be made by
coming by the office or dropping it in the mail. Items that
you believe would be useful in building the next home are
welcome also. Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland is supported
and staffed through the devotion of volunteers, donations
and sponsors who seek to build and serve our community in
making it a better place to live and work. Please take a moment
