Building a Dream

It was Jeneda’s dream to own her own home. However, as a single mother of three children she didn’t think she would ever be able to. Then Jeneda applied to Habitat and her dream became reality. When asked what owning her own home means to her she says “It has given me freedom, independence, self- worth and confidence. “ Since moving into her own home she has seen her life turn around. “It is amazing the way owning my own home has affected my family. Our lives are falling into place spiritually, financially and emotionally. “

The most important part of owning her own home has been the benefit to her children. After years of struggling financially Habitat showed her family that good things really do happen. She said “My children now know what it is like to have privacy and security. I sleep better at night knowing they are in a clean, safe environment.” At her home dedication Jeneda cried tears of joy because all of her hard work had paid off and she and her children now had the peace of mind that comes with knowing that they owned their own home.
